can i stop my marriage?

folks,this is the problem i am facing. i am not interested to get marry now and i would like to work for a while....
but my parents are going to announce my engagement party soon.still i am convincing my parents not to do so,but they dont not lisen to my words.........how can i stop this???

I know that lot of girls face this situation in India. But I think you can try out this one. Just fix an appointment with the guy , without informing your parents, and just be frank and tell him that you are not prepared to get married. Request him to back off and in exchange offer him a good friendship.

I think you should tell the guy and tell your parents before it's too late. Or you can always just wait til the big day and don't show up at your own wedding.

Then don't do it I don't understand why this would be a problem. Your parents are not the ones getting married you would be. If you are not ready then say no what about the man does he want to get married? I find this very confusing. Are you from a country with arranged marriages is the the problem? if not then just say no.

Tell them how you feel and if they still don't listen to you be firm. Tell them you will not even attend the party and follow through with it.
