why ia IMAGE so IMPORTANT?

why are people so engulfed in looking good? is it the medias fault or our own? there are so many more important things in lofe but it is hard. i wish we could all see the inner beauties instead of focusing on the outside

The media just exploits a human frailty, which is... good taste. Beauty is a subjective matter, and everyone has his own view of it. Media just gives you a standard approach, and usually makes it an obsession.
But the most wonderfull beauty is the one you produce for yourself. A beautifull innerself gives birth to a smile and lots of charm. When you feel fine with yourself you look fine. There are lot's of physically ugly people that are just wonderfull (Take sean connery, for instance. I for one never thought of him as of being beautifull, but he really has charm. Meryll Streep? she's not cute, but she is beautifull)

i see what you mean i just hate it knowing some girls try to starve themselves in order to look like those 'perfect' bodies celebrities have...its such a shame
