what exactly is IKEA? My aunt was talking about it but I don't really know what it is. Is it a furniture store or a decorating store? Are their prices better than department stores or even Walmart/Kmart? Is it worth a one hour drive to check out?

you can find out more from www.ikea.com.sg It's a furniture store AND has decorating items like lamps and photo frames. They have cheap furniture with modern designs. However quality wise, it will last closer to 4 years, not 10 years. yup, worth a one hr drive, esp if you have a few items in mind to purchase. my nearest outlet is only 10 mins drive away, so i go there quite a lot!

It's an international store that sales more than just furniture. It has storage ideas, decorating items, beds, toys and much much more. This place would really be worth the drive. I have to drive that far to get to one as well.

It is a home furnishing store from Sweden. I like their dishes and I have purchased rugs which I really have liked and they have held up really well, but I doubt I would buy furniture because I can do better buying well made furniture on sale at the department stores. Their furniture has a modern look and I like over stuffed furniture.
