What do you suggest, buying a laptop or a desktop,Both have got pros and cons,I feel buying a CPU with a TFT monitor can give you the same mobility. What say you?

CPU with a TFT is better than a normal Desktop , well i think Desktops are better , if u have some minor hardware problem u can sort it out. but in laptops u cant do that..

It's actually not a superior technology it's just more compact, smaller. The desktop PC is the one with more high-end technology, for that matter, for it can be much more advanced. That's why laptop never matches the core capabillity of the most powerfull desktop. Or the graphics capabillity.

It depends what you want to use it for. Laptop is more convinient, but can be modified a lot less than desktop one. Plus bare in mind, that there are limitations on how much you can upgrade the system with laptop. You can get much more powerfull machine with desktop, for a lot less money. If you wonna play games and are demanding user, then laptop is out of the question. But if you plan on going to places where you'll need your "office" laptop is the choice for you. My advice to you is... I think that you are not of such age that you'd need a laptop yet, so buy yourself a desktop first and later on a laptop aswell. People usually do not choose between the two, because they are so distinct, that the buyer knows what he's after, for what purpose does he need it. It's not the question of which do you preffer, it's which do you actually need. So there.

If you want to go with a very high performance machine, go for a desktop. Desktops offer a more wider array of upgrades and expansions than a laptop. Plus desktop components are cheaper than laptop components. I think the only things that you can expand in a laptop is its memory and storage capacity. There are desktops available that are small if you want to be more mobile. The plus side for the laptop is that its everything in one machine (keyboard, monitor, cpu, etc) so mobility is no question for laptops. Downside are limited room for expansion, more fragile, and as nate_dogg said, they have issues for using a laptop on your lap for a long time.

i think a laptopp is better, provide u can afford the extra money. desptops are no as comfortable as u ahve to sit on a chair and have no choice. laptops are more portable and handy. i wish we can soon buy one....
