What if Neville was picked instead of Harry?

If it had been Neville instead of Harry I'm not convinced the books would have been international best sellers, just not convinced the stories would have worked in quite the same way!!! Strangely I think JKR knew what she was doing when she wrote it that way...is it just me or do some people seem to forget that it is all just a story that has been made up?

if Voldemort chose Neville then Harry's life would have been completely different but I don't think the story would have been as interesting. i like Neville but he's such a clumsy kid and somehow i can't just picture him out as the "boy who lived"...

Probably there won't be much different as neville will become the chosen one and then he will be have the extra power of voldemort and the story continuied as it is name doesn't matter

Maybe, because Neville screws up so much, he'll help Harry with Voldemort.
