what in the world is going on first salad, then peanut butter, now cantaloupe, and now oscer myers chicken stripes.
6ounce packages of ready to eat chicken breast stripes. rib meat, grilled, fully cooked, ready to eat. it can cause meningitis.
Isn't this wonderful it is getting to the point that it is scary to buy food from the store I mean a lot of us don't have a choice because I can't grow a garden in the middle of winter. what is your opinion on this and do you think there is away to stop all this?

Yes, it is really scary. there was also a scare about fresh spinach from the USA. It took me two or three months to buy spinach again, my favourite salad ingredient. I live in a Condo and can't grow my own vegetables but in the summer I try to get out to local farmer's markets, but who knows if even their products are safe. The only safe one's are true organic products which most of us cannot afford. I never buy precooked meats. I thoroughly wash my meat and cook it fully, so far so good.
I think there are many causes for contamination. Mass production of food is one of them. Cooked meats are frozen, loaded into refrigerated trucks, tranported hundreds or thousands of miles, unloaded, reloaded and put in supermarket freezers. If at any one time the temperature is not correct, the germs flourish. Mass production of animals, pig farms with thousands of pigs and vast quantities of animal sewage that can and has leaked into rivers and streams and flowed into fields where vegetables are grown. It is so sad, we have an abundance of everything and yet we manage to ruin so much.

I have no idea really how to stop this , I live in Scotland and we recently had a scare with bird flue and Bernard Mathews seemingly bought some from where there was supposedly bird flue , he denied it but now i do not buy his turkey products , this is the only way I can think of stopping it xx
