Computer games are affecting teenagers in a negative way!
For all those who are not familiar with computer games here is some terminology to help you understand my article.
• Warcraft 3 is 3rd person computer game
• Dota is a very popular map in Warcraft 3
Being a recovering Dota addict, I think I would be the best person to inform those who aren’t aware of this problem that is affecting many young and old people around theworld. I hope that my past experience can help the parents of today understand how much computers can affect their children and there lives ahead of them.
I started playing Dota at the beginning of 2006 and I am still playing every odd day. A couple of friends came over with their computers one evening to play Dota together overthe internet. The night went on… game after game after game. During the middle of one of the games my sister came to me and asked me to take her to school, I looked at her confused. I was amazed to see that it was 7am! After a tiring drive I got home and fell asleep within seconds. I woke up at 2pm that afternoon.
I never thought that this would be an ongoing routine in my life. Every day when I got back from varsity I would play Dota till I fell asleep, not worrying about the work neededto be handed in the following day.
My night life did not exist. I would stay at home on a Friday night in front of my computer instead of going out and socializing with my friends.
Children who are still in school and are playing on there computers, rather than being active on the sports field or with there peers, will not learn the basics of life. This will lead to a poor performance in their grades and them not being able to socialize in public surroundings.
Parents who let their children play on their computers for hours on end are making a large mistake that can destroy their children’s future. I speak from experience and I hope that those parents who are aware of this problem will tell others and maybe we can control this obstacle affecting the lives of todays children.

Computer games can become enemies IF you let that happen. your constience is telling you that have to play more and more, you feel a pleasure inside of you an you let that pleasure take control of you. I play games for a long time, all sorts of games but if I had never let that pleasure take control of me. If it was torying to then I waould save everything I was doing and shut down the computer. Also I have 2 protective screens to protect my eyes from the radiation the monitor is giving to your eyes. One is in the screen from when it was made and the other I bought it from a computer store. Everyone who is experiencing the pleasure a game gives form some point shoult turn off their computer and go do something else for the rest of the day. Most people don't do that and that's why they become computer addicts.
