is biting finger nails injurious for health?

do u bite ur finger nails when ur in tension?..i do ..i tried a lot to get rid of this habbit but cant control my self from the temptation of biting my nails..everybody keeps telling me that my teeth will fall in an early age..is it true?..i have even heard people saying that it even causes stomach cancer?.
can someone tell me how to get rid of this bad habbit.

with the stomach cancer and teeth falling out, well ive never heard of that this can happen to be honest! you should try and find something else to do instead of biting your nails, try eating gum or sweets or even lollipops when you feel the urge to do it! all i know is that biting fingernails is just like licking a toilet seat because of all the germs inside them, you may not see them but they are in there somewhere, my doctor told me this when i used to do it and i stopped straight away, since then i haven't even put my fingers near my mouth! hope you solve your issue! :o)

LOL, your welcome but this is very true, maybe you could ask your doctor and they will tell you im right! it's bad anyway in other ways im sure you can handle without biting them, it's much more healthier for yourself! :o)

I occasionally bite my nails but I have heard that is bad for you.I don't know about the cancer part but I do it is not good for your nails at all.

What a load of rubbish. I bite my nails and there is nothing that can harm you over it. I also have tried quiting and the temptation is just too strong. I have tried almost everything, but they are right there....
