how long does it take for a carrier bag to decompose?

i am really infuriated by local people where i live picking up their dog poo in plastic bags and just throwing them into the trees.i know it means you cant stand in dog poo but those bags just stay there festering and breeding disease for who knows how long.i know its a very long time though.these people are idiots.

they think theyre being so good picking the poo up in a plastic bag and then they just throw it into the trees,im not kidding there were bags hanging off the trees yesterday,bags of poo.like i said these people are just idiots.ive written to leeds city council because i want to know what we can do to stop them.

The whole point of scooping is to remove the poop, not just to place it in a bag. Place the bags in a trash bin, don't just toss them back in the woods. If you're going to do that, why bag the poop at all?
