i can't believe that these we're really happenning! because my first time to write a topic, i typed it into a Word (MS Word) because i'm thinking of coying it then paste it here, but it was my own words & thought. i really have no intentions of cheating, it's just that i cannot type directly here when my boss is around, so i was thinking to just paste it when i'm done. but when i was pasting it, i found out that it can't happen, coz it didnt work. so from then on, i never tried doing that again, coz its a waste of time to write in a Word, and then re-write it here.
so how did you do that?

Hello my friend, i'm sorry for not answering sooner. Didn't check my discussions. I haven't used copy and paste yet, but i know how good it is to be able to have this option. So far i haven't had a need to use it because i usually don't make big discussions or responses and i haven't needed it to post urls and refs. Gee i hope the next time we talk it will be about something that we can both laugh or smile about. My discussions are to serious. Take care Wraithstriderswife.

Yes it is easier to copy and paste links and web addresses etc, without typing every character in. So that is to prevent spamming but coping and pasting is good when you need to add stastics or want to share part of a news article, etc.

I'm not talking about copying an article and then paste it. I mean if you're going to answer and you wanna put some quotes or url link, it will make you easier and faster.

Me too I don't think I will use the copy and paste feature when I reach my 500 posts. But I do think there are few cases when it would be helpful. One time I wrote a very long answer to someone's discussion. When I went to post the answer I lost my Internet connection. It came back a second later but my answer is lost! I was really frustrated and I had to write the whole thing again only to have the same problem a second time. I remember I was thinking that if I had already reached my 500 posts I would have saved my long discussion just in case there is a problem with the Internet. I would have just copied and pasted my text from a word document.

Of course, cut and paste allows you to bring in interesting materials from other sources, mostly websites. But I guess one should do that with proper acknowledgement. Sharing a joke from a site is a good idea, but presenting it as it it's a joke created by us is not fine. I am still waiting to reach the 500 mark to experiment some cut and paste.

Yes of course. I think CnP can make response more faster because we can copy some word that maybe to hard to type or an url to share and paste it.

i was asking myself the exect question
when i reached the 500 post i was so happy that i can cut paste and copy..but did not ask myself what for..?
a bit after that i realized that exactly like you i do not need that..it is nice to have it as an option..but i usually do not give out web adresses or links..only respond with my own words so it does not really matter to me..
