Probably the best person to get a letter of recommendation from is a former employer (or more than one, if you've had several jobs where you were a good employee). If you've never worked before, a clergyman who knows you well, a former teacher, someone you have done volunteer work with, or even someone you babysat for or raked leaves or shoveled snow.

A letter of recommendation will have to come from a respectable person who knows you enough. This will include some of your teachers in school, they know how you are as a student; a government official, he knows how you have been behaving in the community; your employer, he knows what is your attitude at work, and from some others. They have to be credible individuals otherwise, their recommendations will not carry any weight.

A good person to give you a letter of recommendation would be your previous boss or your previous teacher. If you're applying for a job and the company requests for a letter of recommendation, then you have to submit one from anyone in position from your previous job (like your boss). If you have no job experience, then you can submit a letter from your teacher/professor/mentor who can attest for your skills, capabilities, and your character. Same thing goes when you plan to enter a university for a post-grad course (a letter of recommendation from your previous undergraduate school).

someone who has authority such as your previous teachers in school, or your politicians in your area, or if you have previous jobs, your employers. but make sure that they know you well enough to be good references. and never include someone who is related to you such as aunt, uncle, or cousin.
