I've always believed very strongly that music can affect your emotions and thought processes. It certainly rings true for me. Different music brings about different feelings. If I listen to, say, classical for example...I feel pensive, contemplative, calm...when I listen to Slipknot I feel tempestuous, strong, powerful, dark.
I don't doubt that the music we listen to can ultimately effect the choices we make, how we see others, how we see ourselves and how we view the world.

classical music for me is good... hehehe metal core music like of what u've said from 'slipknot', it irritates me to be honest... music we listens to can tell of who we really are...
thank you tennesseemom for the response... greatly appreciate it...

Beyond the shadow of a doubt! When I first started dating my husband Fleetwood Mac had just put out a new album. WE would listen to that tape in the car as we drove around. I bought him that CD for his birthday (which was one of our first few dates). Whenever we here any of those songs we have to get up and dance or otherwise be close to each other if possible! If I am in a bad mood, I can turn on Sirius radio to the '70s station and listen for a bit and before I know it, I'm bouncing around the house and my bad mood is gone! There have actually been studies to show that people spend more money in gift shops when there is soft, relaxing music playing in the background rather than silence! Music is powerful and is the universal language (in my opinion!) There has never been a people who didn't have some sort of music!

Ofcourse Grace, music does affect our emotions. I often start music to make me feel relax and better. How I also wish that someday I could make a good music and share it to everyone.

I agree that music can manipulate your emotions. For example,if you listen to loud rock music before any athletic event, you will perform better than you would normally.

Oh yes, I firmly believe that music effects our emotions. When I'm cleaning house I like to listen to the oldies, up beat fast tempo and it seems to give me energy. When I'm relaxing I like to listen to Christian music or classical. They even say that music can have an effect on unborn children while still in the womb. When I was expecting my second son I played a lot of classical music and he turned out the most laid back person I've ever known, along with super smart too.
