Why do golf balls have dimples?

it's bec dimpled balls fly farther than non dimpled ones, it's the aerodynamic effects of the dimples to the ball that's significantly the reason why it was built that way..hi!

Very true, that is how they came up with the dimpled balls ....

maybe so they get dirty and you have to buy more, or it just prevides more of a grasp so it has a bigger impact at the swing, or maybe it makes the ball heavier

It makes the ball aerodynamic which makes it to fly farther than those nondimpled balls.

they became matured during younger stages of golf these balls had pimples, and in matured stage those piples became dimples
