Anyone else tired of the jokes?

Is anyone else getting tired of all the jokes posted on myLot? I swear it's getting worse and worse. I can't go through a page of discussions without coming across several jokes. I don't understand the point of them. Surely, they don't get a lot of responses. And what's the point of responding to them, anyway? You laugh and that's it. There's NOTHING to DISCUSS! I'm tired of having to fish through several jokes a page just to find something worth responding to. I don't even bother opening them, but it's still REALLY annoying! Anyone else getting fed up with all the jokes or am I just being stupid? I seriously want to take it to myLot. There's even people out there posting nothing but jokes. Surely, that can't be right. They've gotta be bots or something, right? What do you all think?

Wow, did you just not read my post or what? I said that I KNOW I can ignore them, but when I have to go through several jokes a page just to get to a discussion I can actually respond to, it's really annoying. Oh wait, now I'm repeating myself because once again, we've come across someone who doesn't read the discussions.

i don't like jokes. to me this isn't the place to post a lot of jokes. like one or 2 a day is fine but more than that is just too much. i don't even read those discussions because i would feel like i'm wasting my time. no i don't think you are being stupid at all. i feel the same way.

I feel like having to wade through tons a day is a waste of my time. And that's without even opening them! I don't appreciate that. :P

I do not have a problem with people creating jokes as topics as I enjoy reading some of them. Some are a bit dry but some are hilarious as well and I think it is good to break things up a little bit with a sense of humor. There are other topics that I am tired of and that is all the complaining about how much money people are not making on here or other problems relating to this site.

Don't get me wrong. I'm tired of those discussions, too. Especially the survey type questions (which are, by the way, in violation of myLot) and people complaining that myLot's not paying enough. I want to shake them and yell something like, "Be grateful they pay at all you ungrateful idiot!" Of course, I don't. LOL Ah well.

I think they do, too. And I don't really mind if people post a joke once in a while, but it's the people who are posting nothing but jokes that are the ones I'm getting tired of. Of course, it's still pretty annoying having to weed through the jokes just to find something of substance.

I don't see any point in having them, unless the riters are getting credit for starting them. They are very useless. Like the recipes I can't discuss them either.

i don't think they are bots, just people looking to make easy money. i am also sick of all the recipes, i mean if i wanted a recipe or a joke i would go to a website for them. but to each their own, i just do not respond to those discussions that is all.

Yeah, I don't understand the recipes, either. I mean, you can't really discuss much about those, either. Plus, if I wanted a recipe, I'd go search for it! I don't respond to the recipes or jokes, either. I just wish I didn't have to wade through them all everyday.

as you said you can ignore them. so, i think you can do just that. i enjoy those jokes. and i guess what you can do is to share another joke after reading that joke. let's lighten up a bit. remember, you'll get more wrinkles frowning than laughing. and as they say laughter is the best medicine. i guess that's the reason why mylot allows us to share jokes. let's all have fun here in mylot.

Who's frowning? I'm not frowning. I'm just tired of the jokes. Yes, like I said, I can ignore them, but I don't think I should have to wade through a sea of jokes just to find a DISCUSSION that I can respond to. Jokes are not discussions. They're just jokes. How people respond to them is beyond me. And a joke every now and then is ok, but there are some people who post nothing but jokes and I don't think that's right. Guess it's just me...

I'm in agreement with you. I've responded to a couple, mostly the ones with no responses because I feel sorry for the posters. But aren't jokes in contrast to the MyLot guidelines? I sure thought I read that we were not to post jokes. And as to what people say when they respond to the jokes? THEY post a joke in return. Dozens of them, and they are really long sometimes. I just do my best to ignore like you say, but some mylotters, ALL of their discussions are jokes. Guess the joke is on me.

Yes, it is against the myLot guidelines. I read through them, though, and I couldn't find anything about them, so I wrote to myLot and asked. They responded and said that they are against the guidelines. I think they need to make it very clear that it is. I've also noticed that there are some users that post nothing but jokes. I report them. Especially if I find like one on every page. I get tired of having to scroll past them all just so I can find something of worth to respond to. In my opinion, it's a waste of my time.
