What do you say? People say all the time that they can live with just 4 hrs of sleep a day.
Sounds crazy

Sleep is good for the body but too much of it is bad.Its a normal to give your body a sound rest.I do take a good sleep for the day, say 8 hours of sleep is good enough for the body.I come back from work by 6.00pm and then sleep at 9.00pm or 10.00pm so i feel is the best time to sleep and wake up early for the next days job.

I have been suffering from odd hours of sleeping since I was suffering from insomnia for as long as I could remember. There are days when I get 0 sleeping hours. I compensate it with health foods and resting in bed for hours as though sleeping. The doctor said this practice can get me recharged somehow. I feel best if I get 10 or more hours of sleep each day. I am envious of those who easily falls asleep. They are surely having at least 8 hours to recharge fully for the incoming day's activity.

I don't think it is absurd to sleep just four hours a day. I have seen many people, mostly careerists, doing that. But, the quality of your life may change, if you force yourself to that. Whereas, for some people, sleeping for four hours a day is just enough. They have a proclivity to work during night and have no problem if they do not make it up with a nap during the day. The usual view on the sleeping hours would demand you to have at least seven hours of sound sleep. But for those who can't make it, some power naps may suffice.

i think so too. You have a hard time getting up when you know you just have 4 hours sleep. This always happen to me, so I will stay awake till dawn, reading and smoking, hoping that I will be up and moving at 6 or 7 in the morning. But after a few hours my eyes droop and I start longing to hit the bed. Sleeping is one of the best things in life.

I remember reading something about sleep....
Even if you just sleep 4 hrs everyday, it all adds up. Pretty soon, at the end of the week, you will still be sleep deprived.
I once got through just sleeping 2 hours in a day, but that was from a month-long group project that was procrastanated all the way until Sunday night.

I think a we need atleast 6 hours of sleep for out body to function properly. But whether we take this sleep in breaks or in one stretch depends on person to person.
I prefer to sleep in one go and so do a most of people that I know.
4-5 hrs could drive me nuts.
