i grew up quite independently. my parents hardly interfered in my decisions right from my academics to personal life. this was a apparent bliss and i thought i was really lucky for not being objected to like other friends of mine. i decided to abort most coveted medical course and join humanities, they were not so happy, i fared well with english, they were happy again. but they never overcame when i decided to marry in teens and moved out. they could have stopped me, but didnot, only they said i was not doing the right thing. i wish they would! quite evidently, i got into a bad marriage very soon.
now, i know, how does it feels to disobey the parents. they are the best well wishers and would never let us down. i promised not to hurt them anymore and guess what, i just want them, to be more and more interfering.
i love them the most.
thank you.

from my experience, parents (and in-laws) interfere means disaster.
most of the time, they will make a bias comment such as 'i believe her because she's my daughter, my son wouldn't do that ... etc).
