We are becoming overly dependant on computers? Is this a good thing or bad?

computers have helped us advance beyond what we could have possibly thought of in the past several years, and it will continue to do so even after the human race had gone extinct.
but i don't see any way computers could destroy us, as their creators we are bound to learn ways to keep them useful and safe for us, unless of course you are a terminator/matrix fanatic who thinks that someday in the far future, computers will enslave the human race. still that is far-fetched theory. but perhaps you are right, maybe someday computers can become self-conscious and try to gain advantage over its masters (us for that matter), do you think we'll lose to them?.. i don't think so, coz' superman will be able to find a way to vanquish the evil...
