According to u who would be the kannadiga of the century..i.e 20th Century?

Right pick Raj, No kannadiga has contributed like sir, to Karnataka, KRS dam, soap factory... what not. But my second pick will be Kengal Hanumanthiah who built Vidhana Soudha.

I vote for Dr.Rajkumar. When Kannada was neglected in Karnataka itself, it was Annavaru who led Gokak Chalavali and fighted to get prominence for Kannada in Karnataka! Annavaru was the Kannada's only Icon in 20th Century, who was respected by one and all. I also respect Vishweshwaraiah, Kuvempu, Bendre etc., who are also icons in their respective field.

It is difficult to select the great and the greatest, because there are very many people who have done everlasting impressions in the state in various strata of the society. In the field of engineering, Dr. M. Visveswaraiah, in the field of literarature, Dr. karanth, poetry - Bendre, in sports great spinners like Prasanna, Chandrashekar, and now kumble, in batting budi kunderan and now Dravid, In science, Dr. U.R. Rao, not one, but hundreds of great men have contributed to the greatness of Karnataka which is one of the most progressive states in the country. And what of Mr. Narayana Murthy? His wife is a public energy No.1 in social work.

Shri Shivakumar Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt, who runs free School/hostel for all Relgion/Community without any discrimination is the ultimate! The number of students is more than 5000 and still growing. Next is our Annavaru. With his great acting skills, habits, humanity and humility Annavaru is the Second person of the Century.
