For me, I don't think so. I need hugs and smiles too much, and it's difficult for me to trust someone.
But I believe that it could work for other people.

I have to agree with you. I am in a relationship with my neighbor and i think that if things will change and I have to adjust to a long distance relationship with him, i'd feel that it's not going to work. We talked about that and he feels the same way.

I was in a long distance relationship for 4 years and i thought it was a mature and strong relationship. I thought it was enough that we get to talk at least 3times a day but it wasnt. We got married, had to two kids and then, wham! i came to know something that he should have told me and it destroyed our marriage.
Long distance relationship may work for some, but it's not really that ideal to start with because you only see the superficial character of the person.
