Death

The subject "death" itself sounds eeriee, we do not know anything about it except that a living being has ceased functioning. I often wonder what really is the spiritual attachement, spiritual peace, etc...... Some people say it has something to do with one's mind, which I believe is the brain. Now, come to think of it, who is searcing for that spiritual peace? the brain or you? If you say, the brain(mind) and me are the same, is it correct? Now, there is one more aspect called the conscience or subconscience, that is one thing that intrigues me no end. People say, "We want to do certain things, but our conscience or subconcience does not allow us to do so." How....? or rather why.....? This is very confusing to me. Because who is real?, the person with the brain, or the brain or mind, which is responsible for the conscience, and then the spiritual angle to the thinking like peace with oneself, etc. I dont want to involve religion, because I believe that is very personal. Coming back to what I started with, why is death considered so dreadful then, when our mind/brain is powerful during its lifetime. Can't we let go. We do that, after sometime, giving it a fancy phrase like, "life should go on." My point is, death should be accepted as an end of a physical being but not the memory. Because until the memory is alive, the thought is alive of the person.
