what is gender for you?

i will be supervising a small group discussion on gender (a subtopic on identity) soon, and i'm hoping that each member of the small group would be going home having learned something valuable on the topic...on this regard, can you share with me anything you can think of about gender? what is it for you? is it important? how do you view it? how do the people around you regard on it? from whom have you mainly learned of gender and sexuality? do you think your view on gender is acceptable or distorted?
