Family Ties

How much time do you spend with your immediate family. If you're out of the house, married, or in a relationship, do you and your new branch of family spend time with your relatives? Do you have big family get togethers? Are you close only at holidays, or do you have to see your family all the time.

I live with my boyfriend about 3 hours away from my parents. They come down to our house about 6 or 7 times a year and I go up there once or twice (they are retired, so it is easier for them to travel). I'm an only child so those pretty much are our family get-togethers. My bf has family in the state as well, but we see them less than my side of the family; maybe 3 or 4 times a year.
