I currently live in Suffolk where the latest outbreak of bird flu has been reported. I do not think the government is taking this issue as serious as it could be. There is still chicken being sold in my local supermarket that comes from the farm where the outbreak is and still people are buying it. I love chicken but at the moment Im too scared to buy or eat it and Im even unsure about eggs too. What do you think???

When I first heard of the bird flu, I became a vegitarian....my sister did too. I used to love chicken but I don't want any of that bird flu. I agree with you though, precautions should be taken. The latest outbreak and there are still chickens being sold. Its unsafe and scary. You should try to stay away from chicken.

My daughter and I have in the past eaten most poultry, as we don't eat red meat at all.
Now with the bird flu upon us, we are almost vegetarian!
That's certainly one way to make a concious effort to give up meat all together;
Although I must admit, I heve a craving for a bacon sandwich, or six!

I do plan to stay away from chicken and eggs but what about other store bought products containing eggs. Do we avoid them also??? The government is too slow to provide us with the information that the public really needs to be aware of. I do not actually eat alot of meat as my partner is veggie and we eat the same things at meal times but I do still worry.

I agree with you my friend , My favourite food ( next to ice cream ) was chicken , I loved it cooked any way at all , I went shopping today and went to pick up a chicken ( as I usually do ) but stopped , thought about it and walked away , there were many on the shelves so maybe quite a few people are thinking the same way , I don't trust the government , Do you remember the promise they made with beefburgers ? xx

if they are still selling the chickens,than the goverment is not doing there job very well in protecting its people.i dont blame you for not buying an eating chickens or eggs i wouldnt eighter.i wouldnt even go to that supermarket that is selling the chickens.some people must not fear of getting the bird flu if they are buying the chickens.your goverment needs to do more to protect you an keep the bird flu from spreading. be carefull dont eat any chickens.
