A few days back when I logged into my PC it looked like someone else's.Shocked at having got a virus I called up my service man.Much to my solace he said it was a very normal problem. But Iam still not convinced.I have norton on a full alert but why did it happen? Can someone tell me the diferent possibilties that would have caused this problem?

Hmmmmmmmm. First of all you need to install Antivirus. You are wondering which antivirus should I use. So, As i am using kaspersky antivirus, I would prefer to you to use the same coz it takes low memory compared to other antivirus and it is much faster than others like Nortan antivirus...And after installing that antivirus you shouold select your settings as you want.....After that you need to use firewall to secure from threat..Hope, You will not have a problems after that...

There is nothing like 100% Secure..
There are plenty of ways for a virus to enter to ur Comp. and u cant stop all of them..
I would suggest 1 thing..
try keep updates ur anti-virus & Firewall.. take all ur imp. data into ur CD or DVD..
and try to Format ur PC every 2-3months , this helps in maintaining ur PC Speed & also less chance of infected by any Virus..
