How to make a Marraige work?

I see the marraige of my uncle and aunt and I think to myself that, that is what it should be like. They have been married for 30 years and still enjoy eachother's company. They make it a point to go out together and try hard at their marraige. They still have that love in their eyes. What do you think makes a marraige work?
