Have you heard of SellaBand?

Apparently there is this company called SellaBand that allows you to invest in new bands that are just starting up. This way you can make money off of this band (or loose money) and in turn the band does not have to go through the process of getting a record deal because your investment finances them. Now if you know about investing you know the basic guidelines: The greater the risk the greater the return and buy low sell high. That in mind this type of investment would seem very risky! If you invest quite a bit and the band fails well you get it. I find the whole concept very interesting what do you guys think?
