what kind of funny expressions have you got in your country?

when i was in america years ago the people we stayed with used to find our expressions very funny. when we are cross in ireland we say are in bad humour.when somthing is expensive we say its fierce dear.when we are drunk we are sloshed, full as a shough, legless,drunk as a lord or pissed. what strange expressions do you have in your side of the world? we also consider anyone who is posh to be "full of herself".i could go on forever. lol.

Here in Southern Ireland, for a posh person we use your expression and also, 'She thinks she's the bees knees'. For drunk, we also say 'legless and stoned out of their mind'. No offence to blonds, but we call a silly blond ' A Bimbo' or 'Dumb Blond'. I think we use more or less the same as expression as you do in Northern Ireland. Sure we are only a stones throw away.

USA drunk: high as a kite, drunk as a skunk, tipsy, bombed, smashed angry: pissed off, madder than a wet hen, mad enough to eat nails, cheesed off conceited: full of himself, stuck-up, snooty, thinks his own s*** doesn't stink
