When you talk with kids in the room, do you watch what you say or do you just talk? How many words you have spoke n have you heared you child say that they should not be saying?

I have a 2 year old sister and the most i've ever heard her say wrong was butt. occasionaly someone older in my family will slip up here or there, but she never really repeats it.

yeah thats the thing, I mean you can only control it so much. You are right they are like sponges, but I've learned if I slip up I will strta talking about something else right away. I mean right after I say something bad. that way, the word that you say wont be so blatnat and she will have other words around that bad word almost shielding it. I dont know if I can explain it any better....I mean there is only so much you can do as a parent. The people that she interacts with outside of the family are just as accountable as you

My son is 3 years old and he is very talkative in his age. As early as 2 he talks fluently and asked so many questions that's why I really do have to take good care of all the words that I utter aside from the fact that he somewhat heard some bad words outside the house because there are many student passed by along our street. I really see to it that I explain to him what are not words to utter and why they should not be utter.

I am usually pretty careful on what I say around my children but there has a been a few times that some words have slipped out. I explain to them that what I said was wrong and hope that they dont repeat. They will correct me know and explain to me why its shouldnt be said.
