Firstly, the Moon lore is that hair trimmed during the waxing Moon will grow thick and lovely. Waxing stops with the rise of the full Moon, so the lore applies to the period between new Moon and full, which, incidentally, is right now! :-)
It was also said in ancient lore, that cutting your hair on a Friday, or shaving a beard on Sunday, was considered unlucky. Hence, the following couplet...
"Friday cut and Sunday shorn, better never have been born."
Normal hair growth is at a rate of around 2cm per month, and needs to be trimmed every 6-8 weeks.
I hope this helps... brightest blessings.

Sorry, I forgot to say why the Moon lore applies. When the Moon is in its waxing stage, it brings things to you in plenty. But, beware, because in its waning stage, (the period after full Moon, to dark or new Moon, is a time for banishment, etc. Farmers used to sow their seeds under a waxing moon, to give them a good start.

It's depending on the person cause:
* some people take care of their hair and hleps their hair to grow quickly by certain oils or something like this.
* Some people are hairy and as I think this makes hair grow with adifferent rate.
about cutting hair at the full moon, I don't know but may be there is arelation between the state of the body and the moon light like being nervious.

Everyone's hair grows at a different length. Average is about an inch a month or 6 weeks. As far as the full moon, I think that is an old wives tale.

I don't know anything about the cutting it during the full moon. But I do know that hair grows at about 1/5 of an inch each month, and that cutting it more often doesn't really affect the speed at which it grows. Let me know if you find out about the full moon myth, ok? It would be interesting to know the reason.

My hair and nails grow really fast, never measured it in a month. But 2 years ago it was very short and now it's past the middle of my back. I think this is because I take prenatal vitamins, many women just take them for their hair and nails, I do to prevent birth defects if I become pregnant.
