Do you feel that 16 is an appropriate age? I guess you would say in some cases yes, in others no. I think it depends on the child and how much mature they are!

I think 16 is ok but it does depend on the maturaty of the kid. i was about 16 and so was my brother and my boyfriend. my other brother is 20 and he has never had a job. he was told growing up that he didnt have to do anything so now he doesnt do anything. i think it also depends on how the parents raise the kid and teach the m responcibilty.

I got my first job at 15, but that was only because I wanted to save for a car, which I could not have gotten otherwise. It depends on the kid though, as long as it doesn't interfere with schoolwork and the kid doesn't overwork themselves it can definitely be a positive factor in a teenagers life.

I believe the maturity of the teenager will depend on the success of the first job, but I think 16-years-old is appropriate for a job. I think this is a good age to begin teaching the value of money, responsibility, and trust. My daughter got her first job at 16-years-old, but then again, she graduated from high school at the same age and began college. Now, at 19-years-old, she is the manager of an optical store, she is a board-certified optician, and she has lived in another state for over a year and has been completely self-sufficient.
This is not to say that every teen who begins working at 16 will move away from home by the time s/he is 18-years-old; however, I believe it is up to us, as parents, to teach financial responsibility and independence. These teenagers are the future leaders of our society. I know I certainly don't want people who don't know how to balance a checkbook to be responsible for the financial state of things. But that's just me.

In my opinion, 18 is the appropriate age for teenagers to start working. In that moment, they must have graduated from high school. It will even better if they have their post university grade. That way, it will allows one to have better job and earnings.

you are certainly right it totally depend on the matureness of the child and how well aware he is from his surroundings. As long as he can handle his studies along with working then its okk. other wise first he should manage his studies and then think about other stuff.
