Reunions does anybody have them anymore

I remember growing up we would always have family reunions or get togethers. Everybody would catch up on things. As the years went by they got less and less. My husbands family still has them but everybody is getting older and I sometimes wonder if the children will continue the tradition. Have you had them? Do you miss them? Are you starting your own?

we have them all the time at birthdays and suchlike , It was my dads 89th birthday last Sunday and we all met up then some of us went out for a meal together , My mums birthday is on Christmas day and we all met up in my eldest sons house and we have a double celebration then , It is a tradition we all love . xx

Its like a tradition in our family,,, we do have those around even now... we also have School and colleges reunions as a social activity ... its nice to learn what others around you are doing and where do you stand in line with them... i enjoy it at times... not always though when i have to meet all the elders there trying to make a point out of nothing and giving some really unwanted advices

I can deal with the unwanted advice. I just think family is very important. Good for you guys on keeping up with it. I really do wish we did.

Yes we have it .I come from China ,these days is CNY ,everyone of us try his best to reunion with his family whivh is in his hometown .I like this tradition and every go back home and get together ,we play together ,go to visit the other relationships together and enjoy the funny together .It leave a perfect remember to me .

I remember going to my uncle's house about 50 miles away from us at least once a month just so we could play with all our cousins. We had an actual reunion every year, usually in the summer with our entire family. My mother's side of the family has very few any more and hasn't in years. My daddy's side has one every summer with then entire Gibbs family, then in July we have one with some of our just really close family. My husband's side of the family is large and they have a mini-reunion for every child's birthday and a sure enough reunion in the fall. I miss getting together with my mother's side of the family because we actually grew up so much closer. It gets hard when families move all over the place. That's really sad too.
