i am lebanese and we here have alot of traditions and customs. today( tuesday 20 march 2007) is the second day of fasting. it is a tradition here to fast 40 days before easter to symbolise the time that jesus christ spent in the desert fasting. last sunday( 18 march) was the last sunday before fasting, on this day all the christian lebanese families gather at the grandparents house and we eat meat since during the fastimg time we dont eat meat on mondays wendsdays and fridays, some people like me cut off meat during all the fasting. and on the last thursday before fasting or in this case (15 march) is called the thusrday of the drunk, we drink a lot on this day since most of the pple cut off alcohol during fasting. what about u? what r ur customs and traditions? do u also fast before easter?

Here in Egypt, we have a fast of 55 days before easter started since monday (12 ) we don't eat meat or other animal products till the easter day. last week of fast is the most important as the memory of jesus crossing and the churches do great celebrations where all christian people attend churches with their families. On easter night all families gather together to eat meat and visit each other and eat more food full of meat in that day. We celebrate mass of easter on night. some churches on morning and you?
