What are the major characteristics do you think a teacher should have?

for me the major characteristic of a teacher is they know how to handle the class or student well.they know how to motivate the student and create a good classroom atmosphere.the one who put his/her selves in the shoe of the students and understand their behavior and most specially knows how to respect others opinion.

Teacher should be highly patient and an inspiration, who has to set the mind of the young buds and develope their knowledge.

I think teacher to be versatile and easily adaptable in various situations, also that she should be extremely patient and accepting. Teachers play a very important role in every one;s life{almost everyone's} ... one has to be really responsible in his/her conduct and must possess real motivational skills to encourage students Teachers should be the one's whom a student can follow

A teacher should be patient, a little strict, be able to use the principles of "o??????? ?????" ie russian meaning 'feed back mechanism'. He should once in a while challenge his students with questions based on what he has tought.
