You will not be able to target lower stomach fat (or fat anywhere) with specific exercises. If you have fat on your stomach, the only way to lose it and expose the abdominal muscles underneath is to lose weight.
The best exercises to burn calories are aerobic and cardiovascular. And do not ignore weight training. Muscle burns calories.
In addition to exercise, to lose weight you will need to educate yourself about nutrition. Learn what intakes are bad and what are good. Also how many calories they hold.
It isn't easy, but anything worth doing isn't usually easy.

I totally agree with you! My daughter thinks that she has to do stomach crunches to lose her belly and I've explained to her that as long as she's doing some sort of exercising, whether it's aerobic, weight training or cardiovascular, she'll get the same results... she doesn't believe me. That's okay, if she wants to do her stomach crunches, it's still good exercise!

I do weight training, and I have to get some larger weights. Right now I am up to ten lb weights. I eat lots of good food, but as for aerobic, I have bad knees and so I have to limit myself to walking fast, or climbing stairs. However, even with that, I still have a forty inch waist= mind you I also have a fifty inch or forty-nine inch hip and my bust is about the same as my hip. It would have been good if you had given us a link to a site with some suggestions rather than say, "you have to do this to get rid of the belly fat."
It is not that easy and in some cases, it might be impossible.

I agree with you. Anything worth doing isn't normally easy. Weight loss is one of those things that take work. I am trying to lose my stomach. I am starting to do exercises and I will incorporate the advice you gave here.

Thanks for sharing. I am one of many who has to battle stubborn belly fat. I have been really lazy and not doing my exercises at all. I make excuses like my work alone makes me walk so hard that should be enough, etc. I should start exercising again. And I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind.

I am losing weight from December but I have cut back on the overeating and started to exercise more..millions of people suffer from ailments that effect the joints and have to watch what exercise programs. I have found water walking and water aerobics takes the weight off of sore joints, legs and feet and allow us to exercise more with less pain. Thanks for the good post. People in all area's of health can lose weight through diet and exercise...
