Why do religious people like the Jehova's Wittness and Mormans go door to door, yesterday we escaped a visit from the JW's as we pulled out of our driveway they we walking up the street. Rain ,hail or shine these people walk the streets knocking on unsuspecting peoples doors to preach their beliefs to us. I dont want their religion and i dont want them to preach to me. If i want a church i am quite capable of finding one myself and if i need to speak to god i dont need a church to do that in either. Any ideas of how to make them stop ?

I have a few idea.
1. A chalk outline drawn on the sidewalk with a few Watchtowers thrown around.
2. Ask them for their address. When they ask why tell them you want to stop by their house and shove your beliefs down their throat.
3. Answer the door naked. With some type of weapon if possible.
4. Excuse yourself from the room and do not come back.
5. Tell them they are just in time you found something on your butt and see if they will look at it for you.
6. Talk about reincarnation and how you believe you were once a dung beetle.
7. Just slam the door in there face.
I have am not a hater of any religion. To each his own, but I have my beliefs and there is no changing them. I have never had a Mormon knock on my door. The JW's just will not go away.

I just love these and will have to take them into consideration, ive only ever had the mormans prob 2 times but he Joho's just keep on coming. I once live out in the bush miles from anywhere and saw a car coming up our 2 km long driveway and yep you guessed it Joho's ,seems we will never escape them no matter how far from civilisation that we live.

Nice one, hazydazy! I'd LOVE to do that, but my guardian angel will kill me! lol
Mormons and JWs are just trying to reach out and preach. That's their sworn mission, and their effort should be somehow.. appreciated. We have different beliefs but we are all human beings. They knock on your doors as one so be HUMAN enough to listen to them or say that they'll just waste their time on you so preach and help somebody else.
Good luck!

the best way to get rid of them is to bepolitebut tell them you will only listen o them if theyagree to le you give your own interpretation of what they say ,they will leave because they are not allowed to listen to other denominations!

You can make them stop bothering you in your home by putting a little notice beside the door that they're not wanted. I used to have one that covered salespeople, people asking for charitable contributions and all religious streetwalkers. But there's nothing you can do to end the practice, in general.
Why do they do it? Because they're convinced that it's their god-given duty to spread the word and save souls.

I can't speak for other religions, but I know that Mormons think they're doing a "favor" to people by inviting them to join their church. They THINK they're the "one true church" and THINK everyone will be happy in their religion. Now... as far as getting them to stop bothering you, try answering the door naked every time! ROTFL Word will get around and I bet they'll eventually stop.

I am a Christian and I believe in spreading the word of God to others. Some people though, think they need to bible beat it into people. They don't realize that usually it doesn't help to do this, it only angers and annoys people. That is not the way to turn people to Christ, or any religion for that matter.
