What do you guys think about the war in Iraq?
I think it's very neccessary. Because if we just leave then who'll protect the Iraqy's from the terrorists? Most likely no one. Our boys are there for a reason.

The war was ok.
But the things the US army Or Navy or whatever did to innocent civilians is not acceptable.

Bottom line at the moment is that the Iraqis have to be able to stand on their own. Getting rid of Hussein was a blessing, (to me there's no such things as an "illegal" war against a genocidal maniac) but they really do have to get the act together.
I also think that AQ have shown their true colors when Zarqawi quite deliberately "declared war" (his words) on the Shi'a, and attacks have been taking place all over the region, even in Iran, ever since.
This is nothing to do with Islam, or any real issues, this is them trying to take over the Islamic world. They elected themselves as the representatives of 1.4 billion people, and have done nothing but damage to those people ever since. They've killed and maimed more Iraqis than US forces, on a scale of something like 30-40 to 1, in the last few years. (Actually, US casualties for the period are something like 10% of the Vietnam rate. Makes me wonder what people would say about a big war, if it happened.)
Yes, they need help. Who else is likely to try?
