That cant be true. The only way they would not accept blood from people is if they had a disease that could affect others. Go and talk to the person in charge and tell them you want to donate. You shouldn't even have to say whether you are gay or straight. They cant discriminate.

Yes I DEFINITELY did not label this as "Mature Content" and I agree that there is nothing "mature" about this discussion, or any discussion for that matter that simply includes the word "gay." Its a little ridiculous.

For your school's information, the issue is whether the person has a disease which can be transmitted through blood or blood products, not excuses for violations of the Privacy Act. Blood donations are supposed to be screened for that reason, regardless of donor. Hepatitis and malaria are not sexually oriented diseases. HIV hasn't been exclusively gay for at least 20 years. Perhaps if you were to try to explain the idea of current affairs to them...?

So I checked online and numerous sources have confirmed it, blood donation centers DO NOT accept blood donations from homosexuals, going back to a 1983 act. Look it up anywhere. What a shame. Technically, statistics show there is a higher incidence of HIV/AIDs about blacks, will they not be allowed to donate blood next? This is utterly offensive.

there is lots of discrimination to g.ay people these days. I hate to tell you this, but lots of people don't like g.ay people. When I don't like somebody or want to call them stupid, I would usually call them a f.aggot, or a q.ueer. or an a.ssrammer, or a c.ocksucking, j.izz licking c.hoad master. lol. g.ay people CAN donate blood and it's legal. ur "friend" was just kidding.

it's all in their minds dear. we can donate blood as long as you have a clean blood. no worries unless you donate your heart hehehe their would be a problem with that
