Barack Obabma is a freshman Senator for the U.S. State of Illinois. He is hoping to get the Democratic nomination to run for the U.S. Presidency in 2008. thats good info, if given the chance maybe he would turn out to be the first black president. Does he stand a chance of getting there?

It's hard to tell. He would have to win the Democratic primary first, where he is facing Hillary Clinton, who is a second-term senator and the wife of a former president.
If Obama were to win the primary, which is not at all assured, he would then have to defeat the Republican candidate.
The election is more than a year and a half off, so it's hard to predict what may happen between now and then. But Obama and Clinton are the two leading Democratic candidates, so as of now the race for that party is between the two of them

I am too is interested of this black senator who is running for the Democratic nomination. I hope he gets the nod of the party. But he is facing the big challenge of Hillary Clinton. I have seen Obama in Oprah show and he seems to be well-versed and relaxed talker. And to add that he is also charismatic and could command a presence all his own. i am for him all the way to the White House.

Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. He is the junior United States Senator from Illinois. He is the fifth African American Senator in in U.S. History and the only African American currently serving in the U.S. Senate. He is also a candidate for the Democratic Party's 2008 presidential nomination. Recently opinion polls rank him second most popular choice among Democratic voters for the party's nomination after Senator Hillary R. Clinton.
