I had a cat that lived to the ripe old age of 20. She was born as the runt of the litter to a stray cat that my family had adopted when I was young and wound up outliving all of our other pets. She never weighed more than 4.5 lbs her entire life and befriended our dog in the last few years of her life, sharing a water bowl and sleeping next to each other.

i have a cockatiel that wont die. its like 14 years old and it hates me and i hate it but it keeps on living at my parents house. it was fun for a while but then it started getting cranky and biting if you tried to go near it so that probably led to our not getting along too well.

I currently have three dogs at home, the eldest being an 18 year old Pekingese dog. He has endured a lot including three home moves, scraps with the local raccoons, and some physical ailments. He is now nearly blind in both eyes but can navigate around the house primarily due to his keen sense of smell and familiarity with the layout of our house and still plays with my children.
He should be around for a while longer as he goes to the vet every 6 months for checkups and we are very careful with his diet.
Dogs truly aer a man's best friend.

It's really amazing how animals adapt as they age! Good luck with your dog and I hope he continues to be a part of your family for years to come!
