Im no a diet and today I bought some popcorn. I've never payed attention to the nutritional facts, but to my surprise the popcorn was only 20 calories in a cup!!!
I thought that was just crazy! Weight watchers said I could have 3 cups, so I did!! And now Im full!!!
It's crazy, how often do you eat popcorn?

I love popcorn, and I eat it an average of three times a week. I like to make it the old fashioned way, so sometimes the calories can get high. But it is a good diet food too, especially the microwave kinds, and there is also a lot of fiber. That is the good thing about popcorn, all the fibre. Plus its healthy. Popcorn is my favorite snack.

Popcorn practically guarantees good times.
Popcorn is not a guilty pleasure.
If not drowned in butter, sugar or salt,
it's a perfectly acceptable snack that
offers good roughage and all for only 30-35 calories
in one cup and is fibrous too.
Popcorn is one of the oldest American foods.
Popcorn was used by Native Americans as
a staple in their diet and for decoration.
Aztec Indians in the 16th century used
popcorn in ceremonies. Young women danced
a popcorn dance and wore garlands of popcorn
in their hair.

Every week two or three packets. It is very amazing to me to eat some popcorn during work or writing something or reading a magazine. I do not eat popcorn for calories as I did not know about its huge carolies before this posting. I feel better popcorn than potato chips.

Huge calories?? There are only 20!! It's nothing!!! You probably burn the amount of calories just by eating it!!

I used to love it and consumed a great deal. It is really filling and tasty too! Problem for me is that now I have TMD - Temporal Mandicular Jaw Disorder. Chewing has become a real pain (literally and figuratively speaking). So popcorn no longer has its appeal. Oh, I used to have high blood pressure too. I don't take meds for it either - but when I quit eating my salty treat - my blood pressure dropped dramatically!

Yes i love to cook my own popcorn I eat some most nightsas its so low in calories!
*******************************************************
To pop popcorn on a cooker top, assemble the following:
a 3- to 4-quart pan with a loose lid that allows steam to escape
at least enough popcorn to cover the bottom of the pan, one kernel deep
1/3 cup of oil for every cup of kernels (Don't use butter!)
Heat the oil to 400 - 460 degrees Fahrenheit (if the oil smokes, it is too hot). Test the oil on a couple of kernels. When they pop, add the rest of the popcorn, cover the pan and shake to evenly spread the oil. When the popping begins to slow, remove the pan from the stove-top. The heated oil will still pop the remaining kernels.
Salting
Pre-salting kernels toughens popcorn. So, salt the popcorn after it has been popped -- or skip salt altogether and add salt-free spices.

Did you know that popcorn is among the healthiest -- and tastiest -- snacks around?
It's a whole grain food that's low in calories and fat and rich in carbohydrates.
With a little imagination and some common household ingredients,
you can make tasty and original snacks in no time at all.
Check out the recipes listed below.

i eat them occassionally, but not as a substitute for food, usually enjoying a movie in a picture hall alongwith popcorns is great, or sometimes at home, but anyway thanks for the additional information i have gained about calories

I make a batch of popcorn at least once a week to eat as a snack, and so my son can take some to school to eat on the bus (he has an hour and a half trip each way to school and back).
He likes to have icing sugar (powdered sugar) coated popcorn, and I like mine with butter so I only eat a small amount. I do leave most of it unflavoured to snack on when ever I need a snack though as its still tasty, addictive and fat free.
