i have been getting really into the string theory lately, it is a little confusing at first but once u start to see what the concept it really gets interesting. the math is wooof over my head right now i mean i can follow somethings but most of it u have to be like edward witten lol (only the smartest person in the world) that is why he had to explain to the people who created it why there are 5 different theory's. so i ask who really thinks that this mathematical work of beauty is the truth or is false b/c we cant experiment on it yet? b/c even though the math proves it many physicists say its false b/c u cant get your hands on it.

If i recall correctly thee are many more than 5 versions, nearer several thousand and this is the main problem with the theory. It can be used to describe many of the events observed in the universe, but there is no justification as to the version that is used. Thereofre at the moment i feel it is only abstract maths and requires a great deal of refinment to form a uniformed theory of physics.

well like i said there were 5 different theories about the string theory, but edward witten the smartest person in the world explained why their seemed to be 5 different theories it was because the other theories were only reflections of only one true theory which he proved through math, so now there is only one theory and no mathematical errors in the theory so i think it would be a dam shame if all the math and hard work was proved wrong, and if so then what does that say about math?

But Witten also said that he can be completely wrong about string theory. The credentials can be verified only if they find that 'graviton' which is supposed to be one of the key elements which supports string theory.Hope they will find it soon in that big atom smasher that is being build in europe.
