I work for Walmart as a cashier. Today while I was getting paid to be bored I started thinking about what everyone thought of this corporate monster. See I live in Rogers, Arkansas so I actually see Lee Scott and his wife quite a bit. Everything new gets tested out in our store so I always get the first opinion on it. So do you hate or love Walmart? What do you hate about it or like about it? What do you think we could change to make it better?
Be aware that any good suggeustions I will bring up with my store manager and trust me it'll get to Lee Scott easily. He's lives almost right next door. For those of you who wonder, Lee and his wife are great people and should be respected. Do not hate them just because you hate walmart. They are trying everything they can to make it better.

Hello Giggles88, I worked for WalMart for quite awhile and I seriously doubt that Mr. Lee Scott cares about anything except the check he gets and then on top of that the big bonus check he got this year. I believe it was 22 million. While the associates bust their butts trying to get a 1200 hundred dollar bonus. If Lee Scott really cares tell him to go on walmart-blows and read up on all the complaints that the associates have. Gez you can't even stay home when you are sick anymore or if your child is sick, you can't even stay at home to take care of him/her without worrying about whether or not you will have a job when you get back. It's use to be family oriented and now the only thing that concerns the company is how much more money can I take with me when I die.

I love Walmart and I was disappointed when they closed one they had just opened close to where I live as they said it was too close to a new mall that was being built. Just this week it was annouced on our local news that they wre going to reopen it again, Rah!!! I'm so glad as by closing they had forced me to go to K-Markt which I dont't really care for. My Daughter is without a doubt a Walmart queen she will drives miles out of the way just to go to Walmart!

I'm sorry they closed your Walmart. We don't have a K-mart here because Walmart literally put them out of business. We have two super centers and two neighborhood markets and we live in a pretty small town. Living here is such a convenience since Walmart originated in my town we get pretty spoiled.

I am not from the U.S and I know OF WALMART. The world's richest women are the owners of Walmart. I thought walmart is a good company and a good company means good customer service and products. It offers value added service and value for ones money. I remember reading that Walmart offers merchandise at a much cheaper cost to its customers so i thought, if there's anyone who may hate Walmart, it would be the competitors. No company could be that big or successful if people hate it.

I personally think Wal-Mart is a corporate Monster! Wal-Mart is not what it was when Sam was alive, its ethics has gone down hill in a big way. I watched a news coverage on them and the CEO came right out and said that they would rather have to hire new employees regularly then try to work with their exsisting ones. I as a former employee know that the Wal-Mart that I worked in has a very bad rep. I lived two miles from the store, I recently moved to a town where the nearest Wal-Mart is 30 miles away and I first thought how will I survive without Wal-Mart and let me tell you I am surviving just fine. Its not always less expensive and yes they do have some good deals once in awhile but all in all they are not kind yes their are invdividuals in each store that treat you as a customer with respect but,own a hole, No,most wal-mart employees are rude!

I really do agree with you. I may have been very young when Sam was around but I know the ethics have changed. I see every single change before it happens anywhere else and it always favors the rich.

wanted to add that in this area we have a grocery chain that also sells more than just groceries its so NICE inside and has great employees and overall atmosphere. This year it was #2 on Forbes best company to work for, last year it was #1! You can tell because the employees are always so happy and friendly. Its just 72842 times better than Walmart!

i only shop at walmart when i have to.i take my mom there shopping so i do pick up a few things while im there.here is my biggest problem i have with walmart."when my mom has to go to the "bathroom" they will not let her in if they are cleaning it.she is 76 years old an you know they do have bladder control problems.they make her go all the way to the back of the store to use the bath room.an sometimes she cant wait that long.there for i have to take her back home to change clothes an then take her back again to walmart.this pisses me off about walmart.we have 2 walmart supercenters were she lives an they both do the same thing.an the cashiers of course are not friendly an not enough of them.i always shope at kmart.but my mom likes walmart because of the prescription prices.so thats a plus for her.

I hate the way this company exploits the people who work there. A year ago, some employees tries to start a union in some little town in the province of Quebec, Canada. The employees got the approval of the authorities to do so. WalMart's reacted by shutting down the store.
The other thing I don't like are the long line ups in front of the cashiers on the weekends. Can't they have more cashiers and arrange space more effectively.

I hate to love Walmart. I am a strong union supporter and I hate the way they are keeping the unions out of stores. I hate the way the little mom and pop stores can't survive in places where Walmart has moved in and taken over. I don't blame Walmart for doing what it takes to be successful, I just feel bad for the little guys that get squashed. I wish I didn't have to shop at Walmart but I do. I can't afford to shop elsewhere for a lot of things and it is hard to find some things at other stores. The hours are good and most times the line-ups are bearable. The thing that bothers me most about the Walmart here in town is a lot of times by Saturday afternoon they are out of the staples in life such as butter and orange juice. It annoys me, it is a petty complaint but a complaint all the same. That is my rant and rave on Walmart.
