Who do you prefer, Elvis or the Beatles and why? Personally I've never liked The Beatles. I don't understand why they were so influential. Elvis is the King!

I like them both. And yes Elvis is the King but for me when it comes to listening to the music the beatles win hands down.

I agree Elvis is the King! I loved his voice, his music his sexy and even his movies. The beetles were good but I never got into them like all the other young girls at the time. I was still a bit too young I guess to appreciate them. Where as Elvis was already a legend in the sixties when I was growing up.

You are so right. The beatles sounded to nasily. Only paul was kinda cute, the rest of them looked like rats with mops on their heads. Elvis is and will always be a natural hunk. Blue eyes, dark hair, tall sexy and a great voice. Who can ask for anything more !

elvis defo i love him, the beatles songs all sound the same and when we are born we instinctively know all the lyrics, they should have been called the foetles! as said by james mc cann in sliding doors!

Personally I prefer The Beatles to King Elvis, but had it not been for Elvis Presly, The Beatles would not have existed. This is what John Lennon had said as a tribute to the King. Yeah!Elvis Presly is one of the most influential artists of all time.

I will say Elvis for his movies I used to watch as a kid. I loved them, especially Jailhouse Rock. That pelvis had a mind of its own. I was too young for the Beatles, although I have two favourite songs of theirs, Fool On The Hill and She's Leaving Home. I didn't really like john Lennon much either, he was too up himself with that weird wife of his. My mate at work is a complete Elvis fan, her cups, screensaver, calender are all of him.

I like your mate! I'm too young for Elvis AND The Beatles (I'm 23 so wasn't alive when either of them were around) but I discovered Elvis by myself. He's amazing!

But The Beatles had a message and they had the revolution of electric guitars, listen to 'Revolution' itself, you'll understand after listening that they had a lot of influence on the music of today!

Sorry, but I would take the Beatles over Elvis. I never liked his music. The Beatles have catchy pop tunes, some harder rock tunes, and though some songs are light and fluffy, some have very meaningful lyrics. Elvis was a hunka hunka burnin love, and I'm supposed to take that seriously as musical talent? Yes, he had a great voice, but his lyrics were shallow, and the actual music playing abilities were dim at best. The Beatles could cover an Elvis tune, but could Elvis have played a Beatles song?

Thanks a lot for you opinion. I agree that the Beatles were good songwriters, but they just never appealed to me. I have heard Elvis singing Hey Jude and Get Back.
