I have been suffering from a disease they call I.C. There is no cure or reason for getting it.Do you suffer from it also? How do you cope?I.C is a bladder diesease where the linning of the bladder wall is gone. You cant hold much urine and if you do or eat high acid food it can become inflamed and bleed.Alot of doctors think its just an ordinary bladder in fection but its more then that. They have a pill that costs 275 a month for it but thats not even to cure it.It is a very frustrating disease and was wondering if there are other sufferes out there?

I was just diagnosed with IC about a month ago. I suffered with UTI for years. I found a urologist that was very interested in finding out my problem. I had a bad bout with UTI's for the past 6 months. I was under a lot of stress and had 9 infections in 6 months. My doctor kept treating me for UTI but the symptoms kept returning. I was put on the very strict diet and was supposed to have 3 treatments one week apart for 3 weeks. I did not do well with the first treatment, so I can't have any more. I take the medication for it but as you say it is not a cure. The diet is very restrictive and it is hard to get used to.

I suffer from IC too..believe it or not it can go into remission from time to time. The elmiron you spoke of in your post takes three months to take effect.
You might also want you Dr. prescribe Prozac to you, it helps with cronic pain, and completely improves your outlook. IC is also irritated by stress.
There is a great support network called something like (IC network - do a search) Tons of resourcs and a great network. Plus it was helpful in explaining to family and friends since it is such a difficult and strange disease to explain..
Good luck and hope this helps
