What is or has been your biggest home improvement that you have done yourself?Mine,I started helping my mom and dad with their addition to their home,I drywalled and then painted everything for them. And that made my husband see that I knew how to do that stuff so I ended up having to do the drywall and painting in our new additions. It was neck breaking doing the ceilings, all that puddying and then sanding. And talk about trying to get a mix right, when you have to mix your paint with drywall paster to put on the ceilings for that drippy dobby look.Whew I am glad it is all done.

We have just completed, well about 95% completed, a big renovation at our house. We took a large screened room and enclosed it as a regular room. So basically all we had to start with was the concrete floor! We had to do everything from building walls to adding a roof, etc. We did hire help for the roof and the electrical though. But we did everything else ourselves. It was a lot of work.
Then a couple days after that renovation, we completed gutted our kitchen! Oh what a project that was. We gutted the entire room right down to the studs. Then we redesigned the layout of the kitchen. We put up new walls, cabinets, flooring, ceiling, everything!! We did have someone else do the counter top cause it was granite and we didn't want to mess with that.
Our house was a mess and having no kitchen was not any fun. Although we did get to eat out alot and order alot of take out food for awhile.

The biggest home improvement job i have ever done was to completely redo our apartment together with my partner. We stripped all the walls and the flors, removed buildt in wardrobes. We basically stripped the whole place and redid everything. It was quite a big job. But I think it was definitely worth it. The house was buildt in the 40s. Whenever someone changed the decore they did not bother with stripping the previous wallpaper or linolium. We had to do some plastering, papering, lay new floors, a lot of painting. Knock down and rebuild a wall. redo the bathroom. We still have a bit to do in the kitchen.
