I am a theatre artistic and love working in dramas. A decade ago, I had hardly seen anyone coming out or encouraging theatre but of late I have seen many youngsters embracing threatre in comparision other forms of entertainment, which is really a healthy trend, according to me.
What do you have to say? Do you agree with me?

i was studing and working in that field most of my life
and also did my degree in that
theater is wonderful..it has the true live dimension
in my country most of the interesting plays directing and audiance are made by youngsters and young people
that still wants to make a difference and show the world their opinion
and yes when i go to a play 50% of the audiance are youngsters
i know that the whole drama section at highschools is getting a lot of attention lately
from many youngsters that i worked with i heard that the drama workshop helps them with alote of adulsance issues
it is wonderful to see all that

I completely agree with you. I grew up going to the theatre and remember being one of probably only a couple of kids there. These days when I go there is such a mixed age range. From young toddlers to the elderly. I definetly think it is good that the younger generations are starting to go to the theatre. Afterall if they didn't pick it up we would probably see theatre largely die off along with the main audience. I think it is also good that they have brought popular kids movies to the stage, like The Wizard of Oz and The Lion King. If kids grow up seeing shows and enjoying them, I think they are more likely to continue going as they get older.
I do however, think a little of the magic of theatre has also gone with this broading of the ages of people going. I remember going to the theatre, even if we had seen a couple of shows in a year, was still considered something special. That we, as a family, would get dressed up to go and see. That the other people there would also be dressed up. Now, however, people seem to show up in whatever they wish. Torn jeans, old dirty runners. Anything really goes. It just doesn't seem quite so special like that.
