Yes You are perfectly right !! It is the same theorem ! But it is Pythagoras - not pythageorag as mentioned by you ! The Theorem says the Sum of the squares of two sides of a right angled trianle is equal to the square of its hypotenues. If you analyse carefully it says the area of the sqaure with its side as hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares formed by using the remaining two sides of the the right angled triangle as the side of each square. This popular theorem has many applications in practical life. This is the only the theorem which has been proved in 23 different ways and about this, there is a mention in the Guinness World Records. This theorem was one of my favorite theorem when I was a school student as it was not only interesting, but problems based on this theorem used to be imaginative and one really had toc use ones brain to solve them! You are absolutely right that this is the most popular theorem in the maths !
