I often get the impression that other countries in the world don't take us seriously. We are not a bunch of beer drinking, snow mobiling, igloo making yahoos. I'm curious what other countries think of us. Personally, I think we have a pretty great country.

I know people in the states say bad things about canada. Especially on that show South park, they're always making fun of canadians. I've been to canada a few times the past couple years when I was traveling overseas, I stopped in Toronta and spend a few hours there. Even though it was just in and outside the airport I still got to see how life is there.. and it's pretty much the same as in the states. The weather was like how it is where I live in california. And one time when I was in the airport I met the lead singer from that group, Nickelback..and Smokey Robinson lol which was pretty cool.. I don't know much to judge the country so I don't believe rumors. It seems like a nice place.

Real snow. I think that's one reason for me to go up there.
Friends. I have some long-distance buddies who have their barbeque parties, while I sit here and shake my head in envy.
Despite these reasons I can't say I have an opinion or hard fact on Canada at all, except for the wonderful hiking trip I went to when I was about 12 years old

I think Canada is a great country. I went to university in Montreal between 2000-2002 and had an absolutely amazing time out there. I travelled to a few places such as Quebec City, Lake Ontario, Toronto, Niagra Falls and they each provided a marvelous insight into how cosmopolitan the country really is.
I was watching a documentary on TV the other day, which showed that in one the areas of Canada, is where diamonds were discovered by two men. Now all the major diamond suppliers are heading out to Canada. It is a no longer a country that imports diamonds, it now exports them :)

Hello from you Michigan neighbor, I like Canada and someday hope to take a long vacation there. I've known many people from Canada and they all talk about the great things about Canada. Years ago my grandparents spent a summer there, on a remote lake in northern Canada - they had to be flown in by a plane that landed on the lake. I've seen so many pictures I feel in love with it and hope to do the same someday.

It's a very nice place for Americans to visit, you get more bang for your buck here. Also, Michigan's so close, you could drive lots of places.

I grew up in the States but now live in Canada, and every time I go home I have to hear from ignorant people how the terrorists come into the US from Canada. It drives me nuts. It also made me upset when Bush downplayed Canada's role in Afghanistan.
I'm proud of Canada. I'm proud of the universal healthcare system, the freedom of the people to do what with their lives, largely without government interference. I'm proud that our country legalized gay marriage. I'm proud of how people open their hearts to others and try to make a difference. There are so many things that this country is doing right. I'm so happy to live here. I love the US, but am not happy with the direction it's going, and can't imagine moving back there for anything.

I never thought Canadians were a bunch of yahoos! Honestly! I have visited Canada and had a wonderful time there. I thought the people were polite and curteous, the cities were clean, and the best part, the directions made sense. You go you Canadians with your grid system!
