hi there, i am 34 too and still single. career is important as it is the source of my living and my family too ( mom and sister ). you can choose both but if really need to choose, jus weigh which is nearer to your heart then try not to over neglect the unchosen one. :)

I live in California and very few women in this area stay home with their children. If a couple wants to buy a house both must work, as it will cost at least $500,000 and if you can't afford a home, then rent starts at $1500. All of my female friends either own a business like me or work for somebody else. My daughter started attending a day care at a church that had a preschool when she was 3 years old. One of the reasons I choose the preschool was parents were welcome to visit any time. I would select a day care where your welcome at any time, as many times my husband and I would visit during lunch time. Our daughter is now an adult and she is planning to be a teacher. She made many friends at the day care and one of them is her best friend.

If you are still single and no child to take care of, I guess you should accept the opportunity, after all this can give you the chance to earn and save money by the time you needed to stop working especially when you get married, get pregnant and eventually nurse your child. It's good to work hard while you are still single as your responsibilities aren't that much yet coz when you get married you'd have lots of things to consider. but if you're already married and have kids to take care of, I guess you can still work but on w much lesser number of hours. Maybe you can ask the manager to just cut down your work hours a bit so you could still take care of your husband and your children. Godbless!

If an opportunity suddnely showed up - an option to combine a great career with family life - would you have taken it? How much would you value such an opportunity?

I see you must work as media is very suitable and will encourage your intelligence. Work helps us to think, to go with the world new aspects. Family life doesn't interfere with work. When one understands your mind, he will encourage you to still work. Working teaches you how to go with the new ideas especially with your children when they grow. Isolation will make you in the past in relation to your future children and I wish you good luck in job and I wish you will tell me I succeeded in my life. Best regards and good luck.
