Hackers - Pure/Rune Essences

This hasn't been really discussed about. What do you think about hackers on Runescape? First off, but defining "Hacker", they would be person(s) who uses a program to do a certain task repeating a certain "click" cycle. Jagex has, not to long ago, added the Pure Ess and Rune Ess to combat the Ess Macroers. Now for my opinions. Why is Autoing Bad? -The amount of autoers affect how well an honest person can play (such as cutting Yews, the more people (even bots) the less he/she can cut. Now...WHY do people auto? -Thats an easy thing to answer. People auto to get tasks done without needing to preform a single click whatsoever. With the release of Pure and Rune Ess, what were the impacts? A lot! Me, myself, experienced a large amount of inflation due to these new Ess. Here is a quick list. Ess Miners - Pure Ess can only be obtained in Members World, causing the demand to soar and the main source to be, basically, gone. Rune Crafters - With the higher Ess costs, these guys are forced to raise the cost of Nats. Alchers - With the Higher cost of Nats, they demanded lower Yew Long Costs. Woodcutters - Because of the lower Yew Longs, they were forced to Lower the costs. Fletchers - With the lower costs of everything BUT the bowstrings, they lost a large amount of their profits. I mainly posted this to show a number of points. 1. Why did you act on Ess Miners first? Sure they were there but they can't really interfere with the speed you mine with. WCers and Miners really needed some sort of Anti-Hackers update, the Ess could have held on a little longer. Conclusion Sadly enough, I noticed no matter WHAT skill Jagex tries to stop hackers in, it will affect the economy. This is why I support Anti-Hackers. Discuss -Andy

lol they don't want it more then people who don't auto, most autoers either one can't be patient and actually work for there goals, 2 want money fast and don't want to spend time merchanting or using a skill to get money so they resort to autoing, I'm very against autoing in Runescape. I mean really, people who macro have to learn that you can't just cheat your way through life, you should ACTUALLY TRY WORKING FOR YOUR GOALS! (lol if anyone here macros sorry if I'm a little harsh)

I might have been slightly unclear about what I've said. This is more of information and opinion on Macroers and Autoers. Not Hackers as in Trojans, Spyware, and Viruses. This topic concerns the economy of the game and the problems it faces due to the growing problem of these "Macros" and how it affect the people that play is honestly. But thanks for your interesting in this topic. -Andy

I partly agree with you. I used to use macroing (cheating software) to get advantage of RuneScape. But now I realise that It takes the fun out of the game. Now I even stop play RuneScape and play World of warcraft The burning crusade. WoW is alot better than rs.

It is almost impossible to achieve an anti-hacker state in almost any game. Even if Jagex block out macroing, the hackers will always have ways out. If by preventing can stop hackers, every games will enjoy hacker-free environment long ago. I didn't know that because of these hackers, the economy got affected that much. Only thing we can do as players is just to report the hackers, nothing else we can do to notify the Jagex staffs about the hackers.

I must admit, if I got my hands on an untouchable undetectable macroe I would most likely use it. As for everyone else - I believe there is too many :p 1 per player seems reasonable none of this 47 lvl 3's yousing the same auto it just gets messy.

I think stopping hackers is a good idea, because Jagex state themselves that the point is you'll have to work for your gold in Runescape. Just letting a program do it is just defeating the purpose of putting your time in it. If it raises the price of some objects it will just benefit the hard workers, with whom I have no problem
